LEI Pricing

LEI Pricing

The total LEI fee consists of the base LEI fee and additional surcharges. According to GLEIF and LOU policy, LEI applicants are suitable for additional surcharges depending on their jurisdiction.

The total fee for the LEI registration depends on the several factors:

  1. The desired active period of LEI registration (duration 1-5 years).
  2. The company type.
  3. The company’s structure.
  4. The company jurisdiction.

We recommend choosing the multi-year option for your LEI application to benefit from longer LEI active periods. If you choose 2-5 year LEIs, we automate the annual renewal process, removing the risk of lapsed LEIs. The automated checking process ensures your Legal Entity data remains relevant and in compliance with GLEIF standards each year, but without the need for manual involvement from the LEI holder. Multi-year LEIs also have discounts vs. buying one year at a time, as specified in the tables below.

New LEI Code Registration Pricing

Active Period LEI fee Discount Saving
1 year €59
2 years €114 3% €4
3 years €165 7% €12
4 years €212 11% €24
5 years €250 15% €45

The cost of an LEI code includes the initial registration of an LEI and the annual renewal of the LEI for the selected period. The GLEIF fee is included in the stated cost.

For the convenience of our Clients, LEIpapa offers the option to pay the renewal fee for up to 5 years in advance.

If the Client has purchased the LEI renewal service for multiple years, LEIpapa will cover the renewal fee for the purchased period. There is no charge for transferring an LEI from another Registration Agent or LOU if it is required.

LEIpapa renews the data of the Legal Entity in the GLEIF database annually based on the data provided in the public business registries. The Client accepts that if the data of the Legal Entity has changed in the register, it will be updated accordingly during the LEI renewal process.

Entity Type Surcharge

We charge a fee in the amount of €30 per year if your entity type is a Fund, Trust, or Will Pension. This fee covers the additional time required to verify mentioned types of entities.

Level 2 Data. Fund Relationship Data

A complete LEI record consists of Level 1 (business card) and Level 2 (Who owns Whom) data. Such data usually necessary for Fund/Trust/Will Pension, companies with complicated structures and companies that consolidate accounts.

Validating parental (Level 2) data costs €30 per parent per year and takes up to 48 hours. Legal entities must provide both Level 1 and Level 2 data. These are seen as fundamental and value-adding elements of the LEI, establishing the LEI as a high-quality entity identifier globally. In case parental (Level 2) data is not available, the proper exception will be shown in the calculation section.

FAQ

What is included in LEI fee

  1. Initial registration or renewal cost with the respective fee for the relevant period.
  2. GLEIF surcharge is included.

What is GLEIF surcharge/fee?

The GLEIF fee is payable by all LEI Applicants for each New LEI and each Renewal of an LEI.

The non-profit model of the GLEIF sets the relevant fee, which is regularly reviewed and updated from time to time. It helps to fund the GLEIF, its activities, developments, and research, effectively benefiting all stakeholders within the LEI ecosystem. The fees are subject to change and outside the control of all LOUs and Registration/Validation Agents.

The good news is that the GLEIF fees are included in the LEI fees we charge, so you don’t need to pay them additionally.

What is not included in LEI fee

  1. VAT is not included (If your legal entity is registered with EU VAT (outside Estonia) or is a non-EU entity, the VAT amount will not be added to your final LEI fee.)
  2. There are additional surcharges that can be applied depending on the entity type, company structure, or the company jurisdiction.

Difference between issuance, renewing and transferring an LEI

The LEI issuance (or LEI registration) is the process of the initial registration of the new LEI for your company.

There is an important distinction to make when renewing an LEI. LEI renewal can only take place with the LOU (LEI Issuer) that currently manages the LEI. Thus, if another service provider manages your LEI or is not managed by Ubisecure RapidLEI, you must first transfer an LEI to RapidLEI management and LEIpapa.

What is included in LEI fee
